Initial Post - 2007 Winding down

Greetings Spacial Audio readers, and welcome to the first post of the Spacial Audio blog! It is our wish here at Spacial to be as close to our client base as possible while also providing valuable information to our rich and diverse user base. With that in mind, be prepared to start seeing posts from a lot of the crew here at Spacial Audio as we attempt to inform and entertain our growing family. Also, don’t be surprised if we preview upcoming ideas so that we can get feedback from you, our valued customers. With that said, on with the blog!
It’s been a topsy turvey year in 2007 to say the least. We know that every broadcaster out there has felt the heat of the CRB ruling looming above their heads like the in-law that just won’t leave. This has been compounded time and again by the constant reshuffling and putting off of a ruling of any substance. We want you all to know that we are behind each and every one of you 110% and have been leading the battle against these unfair potential rates through our participation in DiMA (Digital Media Association). Our participation has been heralded by marketing director and long time radio personality Ken Dardis. Ken has been doing a bang up job getting people motivated and making sure that the large corporations don’t forget about the smaller broadcasters as we all try to come to a peaceful solution. We hope, just as you do, that there will be a positive resolution in the early months of 2008 that will make us all able to get back to business.
Along with the CRB hearing, 2007 has been an interesting year of technological change and embrace in general. The future of the cell phone industry is looking bright with the release of the iPhone and its API for developers. Also, with Google’s run at the 700mhz band that is going up for auction, there are some real interesting possibilities that may be presenting themselves for the online broadcasters of the world. We are a world that is truly going mobile!
With all of these upcoming technologies, 2008 looks to be a great year to be in technology. We will be dedicating ourselves to reaching as many new areas as possible and hope to have a lot of pleasant surprises for you, our valued customers. Whether it be opportunities to list on new portals, such as our iTunes initiative, or giving you the ability to reach new burgeoning markets, we hope that all of you are ready to take the journey with us into this next exciting year. In a time when there has been industry wide doubt, there is a break in the clouds and a rainbow ahead. If everything continues to go our way, we are hoping that there might just be a pot of gold at the end of that rainbow as well!
