The NEW Spacial Audio?

Hi Broadcasters,

First off I want to personally express to “everyone” how much we truly respect and appreciate you all! Without all of you and your participation within this industry as a broadcaster and as a client, there would be "No" Spacial Audio. Certainly, we have always been keenly aware and appreciative of this fact. Further Spacial was initially built with a more "personable" and directly pro-active approach in how business was done. However in this last year or so I'm sure many of you, especially those that personally know those of us here at Spacial have probably been wondering what has happened to that more personable interaction, especially from myself and Louis. And most importantly what we have actually been up to lately?

Spacial as a company, and Louis and I as its owners have come a long way in the last 10 years since we opened the doors. The years of running Spacial have seen a lot of "firsts" for us and within our industry as well. We are very proud of those accomplishments. Spacial also in the last 10 years has grown from a company run basically by myself and Louis, to a company now with currently 17 full time employees and aggressive plans to add additional in the coming weeks/months. So indeed we have grown and continue to grow!

But with growth unfortunately comes the usual pains. Louis and I are no exception to that rule. And as Spacial has grown, so has each of our overall responsibilities and work load. Sadly this has gradually taken both us from the center stage and vastly inhibited our ability to “personably” address our potential plans regarding new services, products, industry issues and or overall, our ability to communicate “directly” hands on as we once had done.

The good news is that we now are implementing ways in which we can bring back a more “personable” interaction beginning with this new Blog - Daily Operations and Beyond, where you will soon find direct postings from myself, Louis, our new operations manager, Josh Ray as well as from our VP of marketing, Ken Dardis. We will cover all types of subjects including what’s new or upcoming regarding Spacial and its services, products, advertising initiatives, legality issues, and more.

It’s also with much anticipation and excitement I’m VERY happy to announce the launch of an entirely new Spacial Audio corporate website! Indeed, over the next few days you will all witness the integration of the new website and we would certainly very much appreciate everyone’s feedback! We believe you will find it a much cleaner, less confusing, more professional and intuitive web presence than we have ever had before. Allot of time was invested in study, testing and designing of it. I’m very positive that everyone will agree it’s a major and important improvement. But, it’s merely just the beginning of the multitude of changes you can expect from the NEW Spacial Audio as we continue to move forward into 2008!

Indeed we have been working diligently behind the scenes over this last year to deliver both “internet only” as well as terra broadcasters much more compelling and intuitive opportunities to monetize with our upcoming ad revenue and music sale initiatives and to also benefit and grow your stations listener ship via broader distribution opportunities, including multiple internet, hardware and mobile platforms. Allot has been learned and experienced in the last 10 years. And we have taken to task all that we have learned in the past to better assist each of our clients in the growth and prosperity of their current and future broadcasting initiatives!

I’m sure that many of you are also curious to know more regarding the upcoming new products Spacial may be planning and or developing? Indeed there are many, many new products and services to be shortly forthcoming in 2008! While I will leave the more in-depth details for Louis and the Dev team to later elaborate on. I can say that initial work has begun on SAM5, which is a complete and total rewrite from all previous SAM versions. Many if not most all the previously desired and or lacking features will be addressed and then some additional goodies as well.

Other new products and services will also be addressed in the coming weeks/months. They include new advertising technologies, a multi-platform Media player, new innovative Streaming resources, tools and services and most importantly for broadcasters overall, multiple revenue generating opportunities, just to name a few!

We sincerely expect 2008 to be a GREAT year for us all. We have worked very hard this last year and taken the task upon ourselves to be able to provide all broadcasters with the strongest and most beneficial ways in which to generate revenue and grow your listener ship. I hope that as we roll out and announce all our upcoming new technologies, services and revenue generating opportunities that you will see we desire nothing more than for all of you to succeed, as with your success we will see success ourselves! There is no “I” in team! Together we will accomplish much. Thanks once again for all your continued support and here’s to working together in 2008!

Initial Post - 2007 Winding down

Greetings Spacial Audio readers, and welcome to the first post of the Spacial Audio blog! It is our wish here at Spacial to be as close to our client base as possible while also providing valuable information to our rich and diverse user base. With that in mind, be prepared to start seeing posts from a lot of the crew here at Spacial Audio as we attempt to inform and entertain our growing family. Also, don’t be surprised if we preview upcoming ideas so that we can get feedback from you, our valued customers. With that said, on with the blog!
It’s been a topsy turvey year in 2007 to say the least. We know that every broadcaster out there has felt the heat of the CRB ruling looming above their heads like the in-law that just won’t leave. This has been compounded time and again by the constant reshuffling and putting off of a ruling of any substance. We want you all to know that we are behind each and every one of you 110% and have been leading the battle against these unfair potential rates through our participation in DiMA (Digital Media Association). Our participation has been heralded by marketing director and long time radio personality Ken Dardis. Ken has been doing a bang up job getting people motivated and making sure that the large corporations don’t forget about the smaller broadcasters as we all try to come to a peaceful solution. We hope, just as you do, that there will be a positive resolution in the early months of 2008 that will make us all able to get back to business.
Along with the CRB hearing, 2007 has been an interesting year of technological change and embrace in general. The future of the cell phone industry is looking bright with the release of the iPhone and its API for developers. Also, with Google’s run at the 700mhz band that is going up for auction, there are some real interesting possibilities that may be presenting themselves for the online broadcasters of the world. We are a world that is truly going mobile!
With all of these upcoming technologies, 2008 looks to be a great year to be in technology. We will be dedicating ourselves to reaching as many new areas as possible and hope to have a lot of pleasant surprises for you, our valued customers. Whether it be opportunities to list on new portals, such as our iTunes initiative, or giving you the ability to reach new burgeoning markets, we hope that all of you are ready to take the journey with us into this next exciting year. In a time when there has been industry wide doubt, there is a break in the clouds and a rainbow ahead. If everything continues to go our way, we are hoping that there might just be a pot of gold at the end of that rainbow as well!
